Mina Ebrahimi is an entrepreneur whose family came to the United States from Iran. She grew up in Falls Church, Virginia, and is a member of the 1989 graduating class of George C. Marshall High School. She says she really enjoyed high school and also enjoyed earning her black belt in karate during this period of her life.
Her first job was at Saint Germain Cafe, a Bistro French Cafe owned and operated by her family. She started working there while still in high school and was eventually named as their vice president of operations. When Mina Ebrahimi started here in 1988 it was a business that offered baked good, a restaurant, and catering services. Some of the companies they supplied with food were Lerner Enterprises, Macy’s, Nordstroms, and Neiman Marcus.
In 1998 she decided to open her own company which would focus on catering. This is Saint Germain Catering, a company she still leads as the chief executive officer. Her company can provide up to 200 catered events a day throughout the Washington D.C. Metro area. Her company will do any size of event and at any venue. They do personal celebrations such as graduation parties, baby showers, wedding receptions, family get-togethers, anniversary celebrations, and more. They also offer catering to corporations where they can handle events, meetings, and cook-outs. As Mina Ebrahimi hires people from many ethnic backgrounds her company can offer cuisines from around the world at these events.
Mina Ebrahimi is also a notable philanthropist. She had been a board member for the University of Pennsylvania Pet School for a period of time. During this time she focused on animal welfare and improving animal medicine. She also established the Mina Ebrahimi Foundation in January 2014. This is an economic empowerment organization which helps other women get their own businesses started. She helps them locate funding for their new ventures and provides them with the support and business acumen to get these companies successfully off the ground. She says that giving back to the community where she has found her own success is very important to her.
